Identifying Trends from Trend Reports

Step 3

Regrouping and Synthesising

Building hypothesis based on trend research Fromm secondary Data

Step 4

Primary Research

Interviewing Users and Experts

Step 5

Analysis, and Insight Generation

Generating Insights from primary and secondary research by conducting a detailed analysis, and building a trend report based on it.

01

SECONDARY RESEARCH

LIFESTYLE AND AUTOMOTIVE TREND RESEARCH

  • Looking into multiple lifestyle trend reports, identifying possible trends in current and future
  • Preliminary research on SUB-4m, competitive benchmarking. Understanding automotive trends - current and future.

TREND ANALYSIS

  • Analysing the Trends, Classifying them
  • Connecting them to automotive trends, forming hypothesis for further validation

SKILLS DEVELOPED

  • Classify them into appropriate groups
  • Build connections to understand the effect on different stakeholders
  • Form multiple hypotheses based on the connections made
  • Working as a key team player
02

PRIMARY RESEARCH

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

  • Gathering hypothesis from secondary research, and building a set of questions to ask the consumers
  • Evaluating each question, working on multiple drafts before deciding on final questionnaire
  • Practicing flow of the interview workshop, ensuring back-end efficiency
  • Redesigning questions based on who it is being asked to

DURING AND AFTER INTERVIEW

  • Taking speed notes and classifying the notes based on what each participant has said
  • Analysing interview Responses based on multiple identified categories
  • Making creative visuals and signs to ensure that consumer stays engaged throughout the interview

SKILLS DEVELOPED

  • Reframing questions to make them easier for respondent to understand.
  • Taking speed notes as soon as the person is speaking.
  • Being able to put forward the questions in the form of a conversation.
  • Evaluating different varieties of Data, and making connections between them
03

EVALUATING INSIGHTS

WHAT DID WE DO?

  • Converting speed written notes to post it’s on each qualitative answer
  • Segregating post its between age gender, and population
  • Identifying commonalties, extremes, and patterns identifying styles
  • Co-relating insights with client requirements to build a final trend report.

SKILLS DEVELOPED

  • Being able to thoroughly analyse each response, to identify patterns
  • Interconnecting responses, and bridging the gap between theory and practice
  • Visualising patterns with minimal use of text
